Cuzido à portuguesa indian ink & ecoline 100 x 100 cm 2009 Have eyes bigger than one's stomachJoanna Latka back to the Salgadeiras Gallery with her latest works focusing this time the subject of observation and interest, in the topic of Portuguese gastronomy. Taking this expression, which curiously also exists in their mother language, Polish, Joanna Latka, with her curious eyes and artistic sensitivity, portraits various situations in Portugal characteristics using typical Portuguese dishes. This, however, is only a pretext, a metaphor that Latka used to characterize a people, their habits and customs. The premise "I observe, once I am," stated by herself, assumes a new aesthetic and artistic aspect. Drawings of a daily basis in which Latka is always very conscientious, serves as a starting point for his artistic process. if you want to see more of my work click here
